Heat Recovery

Zehnder heat recovery ventilation provides a constant supply of fresh air into indoor spaces. Fresh air is fed into the system via an external wall vent. The system recovers up to 90% of the energy of the exhaust air to warm the incoming fresh air, saving on heating costs. The air distribution system then channels the optimally tempered fresh air to individual rooms as needed. The air volume can be adjusted individually for each room.

The Zehnder system works to extract air from wet rooms (kitchens and bathrooms) around the clock, while supplying fresh, tempered air to bedrooms and living areas.

Zehnder units extract the heat energy which would otherwise have been lost during the exhaust process and transfer this to the fresh, filtered supply air which is being drawn in from the outside. This is done using an efficient counter-flow heat exchanger which can recover up to 90% of the heat which would otherwise have been exhausted to the atmosphere.

All Zehnder units come with filters fitted on both the air intake and exhaust. This improves the quality of incoming air as well as protecting the unit from any airborne particulates in the extracted air.
