Insulated Concrete Forms
Nexcem ICFs are the next generation in cement-bonded wood fiber ICF systems. They are stronger and more precise than any other manufacturer of similar materials, and use no foam. Nexcem ICFs are ideal for foundations, basements and above-grade building construction, supporting your green building and environmental goals.
Cement-bonded wood fiber is a 70+ year old Swiss invention, with production in North America since 1953. Nexcem is porous, lightweight, and very durable. It does not rot or support fungus growth, and is vermin, termite, and insect proof. Nexcem ICFs do not contain or emit any toxic elements, and are fully recyclable, making your home or commercial building as healthy and environmentally friendly as possible. Best of all, they contain no plastic, foams, or polystyrenes.
Nexcem ICF blocks use 80% recycled material, diverting lumber industry softwood aggregates from the waste stream. This clean, recycled waste wood is chipped into wood fiber, which is then mineralized and bonded together with Portland cement. This material is then molded into a range of ICF shapes and sizes. Instulated with Rockwool mineral wool, 14” Nexcem ICF blocks have an R-value of 28, and 16” blocks are R-35. The blocks are easy to cut on-site, and high-slump concrete can be used with the porous block material. Interior finishes can be directly applied or fastened anywhere on the wall surface. Nexcem contributes significantly to a healthy living environment by not absorbing water, moderating humidity levels, inhibiting mold growth, and has excellent sound attenuation properties.
